Cisco Advising Registration Group Orientation (CARGO)

This academic year Cisco Junior College will debut its new registration/orientation process, Cisco Advising Registration Group Orientation (CARGO). The college will offer the program at both the Cisco campus and the Abilene Educational Center.

“During CARGO sessions new students will learn how to register online, access campus connect, pay their college fees and view their schedules. Students will also be provided booklets that will help them navigate the first year at CJC. At the conclusion of each session, students will be given the opportunity to register online for fall classes while still on campus,” said Lori Grubbs, CJC counselor.

In order for students to be eligible to attend CARGO, they must have completed an application, acceptable placement tests and financial aid applications or have some form of aid in place. Prior to each CARGO session, the Accuplacer will be offered.

During orientation, students may also have their student IDs made, fill out information for a parking permit, talk to financial aid or other offices or departments.

Grubbs said that all new students are encouraged to attend one of these sessions. To sign up for a CARGO session, students should call the counseling office at the CJC location where they would like to attend.

Returning students may register online through Campus Connect.
