Chief of Police

My name is Larry Weikel, I am the Police Chief for the Cisco Police Department. I moved to Cisco in 1985 and got on the Cisco Fire Department as a volunteer. As most of the people know in this area we had several Arson fires in the downtown area. I started riding with one of the Patrol Officer of the Cisco Police Department. I became interested in becoming a Peace Officer. I enrolled at the West Central Texas Council of Governments Law Enforcement Academy and graduated. I applied with the Cisco Police Department and was hired in 1986. I have seen the Police Department grow and become a very respected part of the community. We have, over the years equipped the Department with laptops in the vehicle and we have 2 new cars this year. We have some of the best equipment ever here and great community support. I am married and Tracy and I have 4 children. My son is 24 years old and is also married. My daughter in law is a firefighter with the Cisco Fire Department and also works at the Eastland Post Office. They have a 1 year old son, which makes me a grandfather. My oldest daughter is 14 years old and is a freshman at Cisco High School, which also makes me old. We round off our family with twin 10 year old girls that are about to turn 11. I will have the joy of teaching them this year in our T.A.D.A class. I would like to say that I am proud of each one of my children and I am very blessed to live in a town like Cisco. It is a great place to watch your children grow up and they all have excelled here. I have a great bunch of guys and gals working here to make sure everyone is safe.
